CHAPTER 1: BOOK OF THE FIRST LEGEND: THE SPIRIT KEY (Part 1)

Updated: May 20

The Great Heredge Kingdom was the creation of the Three Union gods, it was created for prosperity and greatness. The kingdom’s fortification and protection were by the great essence of the Three Union gods. The gods blessed the land beyond measures, seated at the throne of the kingdom was the First King and his descendants. In the book of the First Legend, chronicled in it were the achievement of the gods, kings and people of the kingdom in time past. When the Three Union finally departed the human realm, as a result of the break of the covenant between the great Heredge kingdom and the three union they took with them the First King, that led to various uprisings and strives in the great Heredge kingdom. Eventually, the one kingdom ended up divided into four smaller kingdoms, namely; Amas, Sydia, Naya and Heredge kingdoms.

This tale is centred on the super prosperous, thriving and once peaceful Kingdom of Sydia. Just as other breakaway kingdoms of the Great Heredge Kingdom, it holds fast to the worship of the three Union gods. Since, attaining its independence from the Great Heredge Kingdom; it has forged its own way, rising above the other breakaway kingdoms. It became a super power amongst the other kingdoms of Amas, Heredge, and Naya. These successes, was not left unnoticed, for it attracted, the lustful attention of the children of destruction and some cast-off gods, who sought to conquer and rule over Sydia.

The kingdom of Sydia, because of her prosperity and position, for a long time now, has been engaged in wars, over its lands and people. The most prominent of its antagonist, was the powerful priestess by named Ganina. She was infamous in the entire Great Heredge Kingdom as ‘the destroyer’ and a member of children of destruction. For years, she waged war against the kingdom of Sydia, defeating in fierce battles the best of the royal forces warriors, princes, and kings. She destroyed the greatest fighters, conjurers and weapons of the land. She wanted Sydia for herself because it is a land full of precious stones, vegetation, minerals, and brightest of people – it is the leading kingdom amongst equals. However, the people of Sydia banded together with their King, they fought as one unbreakable unity from year to year, without the support of the gods. One hundred fifty years into the war with Ganina, the people of Sydia, under the rule of their king made a decision to go to the god Hym (the leader of the cast-off gods). They pledged their fealty to him, that he would be their god, over the Three Union gods – who left them, in exchange for his protection against Ganina and her likes. They knowing very well, that the god Hym was the power behind Ganina, they asked that he protect the kingdom of Sydia and protect their King (government) by stopping and defeating Ganina forever. He agreed to their request, and in order to show his gratitude, he asked them if they wanted a curse placed on Ganina, in addition. The people agreed for a curse against Ganina and, Hym god of lights placed a curse on her, saying ‘she can never set her feet in the kingdom of Sydia’. Hym, did their bidding, because, he recognized the advantage of having Sydia as his own people. Hym being Hym, he added a silent clause to the contract that the people of Sydia never knew about, to hiss thinking, ‘they should have asked for the consequences of adding a curse’. Unknowing to Hym, his brother, Tasus god of the twist, who was his archival, came to find out about the added clause to the contract. The clause says, ‘if Ganina ever succeeded in killing the King (government) without stepping foot in the land of Sydia, then, she rules the kingdom of Sydia and Hym no longer protects the King and the people’ (this he added, because he always finds a way to break a deal). Tasus kept the knowledge to himself, until when he can use it against Hym, ‘his dear brother, as a weapon to defeat and destroy him completely!’

The people agreed to the covenant with Hym, believing they made the right decision to enter into a covenant with Hym, being the strongest of the cast-off gods. Thereafter, with the covenant rectified, Hym casted Ganina into the deep darkness, by revoking the powers he gave to her. In doing so, Hym betrayed Ganina. And she swore to take vengeance on Hym and the people of Sydia, when she escapes the deep darkness, which she promised to the hearing of all present.

Thousands of years later, with wars far from the kingdom of Sydia, the people grew and blossom. New princes, heroes and warriors to protect and fight for the land, came forth in Sydia. The reigning king and queen of Sydia had a girl child named princess Shadra, an only daughter. Princess Shadra was a beautiful, generous and well-loved daughter of the Crown. The king and the kingdom of Sydia loved her and were proud of their daughter. She grew up being the ideal princess of her people; serving with graciousness, patience and discipline, she was the pride of her people.

There was a time when she was kidnapped, on her way to visit her relatives in the Heredge kingdom the neighbouring Kingdom to the south. Captain Aderic son of Nna, a warrior and soldier of the kingdom of Sydia, rescued her. As his reward for the gallant and selfless acts, the king promoted him as Commander to the royal Army and, princess Shadra was also betrothed to him (this the king did to gain the favour those from the lower ranks in the society, in order to appease them for the poor economy, and not because, he wanted to give his daughter to Aderic).

Aderic found the princess to be attractive and pleasing to him. Likewise, the princess found him favourable to her. They eventually fell in love with one another. But nothing came off of their feeling because, Aderic was swamped with duties for the King and Kingdom, which took him away from the kingdom and prevented any further development between him and the princess for the time being. Instead, the King sent him to Amas to render service to the Guardians and Tower of lights – in order to delay the marriage or even frustrate it to the point that it might break.

Precisely, in the moment when the king was still scheming, Ganina escaped from the Deep Darkness with the help of Tasus the god of twist. Tasus helped her because he believed her to be the only one with great taste for vengeance against Hym, just like himself...
